TWENTY FOUR

Twenty four, eh? I wish I could say I was totally happy about becoming another year older, but no amount of celebrating can justify the fact that I'm now closer to 30 than ever... I mean, I feel like I should have my life together by now! Despite this, I really did had a lovely time from my actual birthday (Friday 22nd January, for future reference) all the way to the Tuesday when I crawled back to the 5.30am routine at work - y a w n.

Wow, I just realised how negative I'm being about getting older! It's really not that bad, guys, I promise. I do miss being a carefree kid sometimes though! Ahhh, you young'uns don't know how good you have it... Still, I'm not going to mourn over lost youth because mine wasn't lost, it simply went too fast for my liking. I swear that the years keep getting shorter and shorter? I can't deal with it. I feel like the last four years have merged into one!

Anyway, I'm not going to go into detail about what I did for my birthday weekend because I pretty much rambled on in my latest monthly Instagram post (read here) but I just spent the best times with the people I love. I ate way too much, I drank way too much, I made a fool out of myself way too much - then again, what else is new? I don't usually make a huge deal out of my birthday unless it's a milestone, so it was lovely to just chill and not think about grown-up things for a couple of days! And the big fat chocolate cake and fancy presents always help matters, right?

This year I want to:

- find a full-time job that I love
- move out of the family home
- go on a solo trip somewhere
- date nice boys (please, for the love of god)
- get back in touch with old friends
- squat 'til I drop, make them wish they had dat ass

So let's see what twenty four has to offer... Because you just know I'm going to be freaking out about turning 25 next year! I mean, a quarter of a century?! COME ON GOD, WE HAD A DEAL! LET THE OTHERS GROW OLD, NOT ME!

  2. Happy birthday! I'm with you on getting older, I turned 25 in October and realising I'm closer to 30 than 20 was a sad day. I've just become a Mum too, so I'm also missing my carefree, easy days!

  5. Happy belated birthday! I feel like everyone has these "negative" thoughts as they progress through their twenties as when we were younger we thought we'd be fully fledged adults by now. It's always comforting to see that not everyone has their shit together, though!
