PEONY AND BLUSH SUEDE

Hello everyone, hope you're all coping with the first proper working week of 2016! I'm starting off the year with good intentions and what better way than a post featuring an utterly gorgeous fragrance?

For anyone who knows me, they know how obsessed I became with Jo Malone's infamous Peony and Blush Suede scent after spraying samples in its tiny Brighton outlet and swiftly splurging on the home candle (which smells lush even when not lit, by the way). Ever since then I've lusted after the coveted cologne to complete my little collection. Believe me, opening this beauty Christmas morning was a real treat - the parents did good, well, Mum did! I almost didn't want to take it out of its signature cream box, as it was so neatly wrapped with a beautiful silk green ribbon.

The Peony and Blush Suede fragrance is described as "the essence of charm" and boasts a top note of crisp red apple with the beautiful peony at its heart, making it a gorgeously floral yet fruity scent. It smells feminine and sweet but still incredibly intoxicating. A couple of spritz of this on my neck and wrists and I find myself wafting my arms about, offering them for people to sniff so they can understand why I love this scent so much. It's my absolute favourite, and the simple yet stylish bottle certainly brightens up my dressing table too.

At £85 per 100ml, this one's not cheap, but what fragrance is nowadays? You definitely get what you pay for. I wanted to use this as my everyday go-to perfume but it's so unique and beautiful that I've decided it's one for special occasions. Plus if I used this every day I have no doubt that it would be all gone by March and I don't want to desensitise myself to its lovely floral notes. It's spring in a bottle but it can be worn all year round, hooray!

It's always such a treat to visit a Jo Malone store, all their pretty bottles laid out for you to happily sniff, and their staff are always so attentive and helpful. There's so much to choose from that you're bound to find a scent just right for you! Other scents I really like are Nectarine Blossom and Honey, Blackberry and Bay, and Wood Sage and Sea Salt. All so sophisticated-sounding, makes me feel like a right grown-up...

What's your favourite Jo Malone scent?

Jo Malone colognes retail at £85 per 100ml, and are available in-store and online
