PURE HOLLYWOOD

You know when you see a beauty product and it's so pretty that you'll do just about anything to get your hands on it? Well, I'm such an impatient person and as soon as I set my eyes on the Anastasia Beverly Hills liquid lipsticks I knew that I had to own one - and quick. So yes, I did that thing of searching just about everywhere for a UK seller and in the end I bought this baby off Amazon for more money than it was worth...But it didn't bother me in the slightest! It arrived on my doorstep the very next day (thanks Prime) after a completely horrendous day at work and I couldn't wait to try it out.

Not only is the packaging absolutely beautiful - check out the gorgeous sleek tube showcasing the lipstick's true colour - but the product itself has lived up to all my high expectations. The shade I purchased was Pure Hollywood, which is the perfect nude beige pink for both day and night wear. I love how the product goes on like a luxurious lipgloss and dries completely matte. I'm usually not one for matte lipsticks as they can really dry out my lips but this one is such an exception. The matte formula also makes it transfer-resistant so kiss away!
Using the lipstick's doe-foot applicator makes it so easy to follow your natural lip line, although you can perfect your look with your favourite nude lip liner as well. As you can see, I applied the product by itself in one fell swoop with just a little bit of lip balm underneath to prep and hydrate the lips. I think that's just a natural step you take if you know you're applying a matte formula. Of course the issue of dryness would crop up, but I really appreciate that this liquid lipstick does not feel heavy or sticky in any way. The only con it has is that it does settle in the fine lines of your lips and tends to crack after a couple of hours wear because of that.

Aside from Pure Hollywood, there are a whole host of other pretty shades available on the Anastasia Beverly Hills website - 18 others to be exact! I like the look of Heathers (deep brick red), American Doll (true red), Vamp (deep brown red), Sepia (chic modern taupe) and Party Pink (vivid blue pink) the most. They retail at $20 and I'm seriously hoping they will be available in the UK for a similar price soon so I don't have to fork out more than I need to.

  1. I have this, I love the color! (Although, I find the one in your picture to look completely different from mine... Which is what I dislike about these lipsticks, they don't look one bit the same in the packaging as they do once they're on...) They're more on the creamy side, which is not what I like about liquid lipsticks but overall, this might be my favorite that I've got from ABH. :-) I have a review of those on my blog, if you want to check out what "American Doll" and "Party Pink" look like swatched! It suits you very well, btw! xx

    1. It's such a lovely nude! Ah that's kind of weird - I think mine looks pretty similar on the lips as it does in the tube - but I guess because it's a nude it might look different on certain skin tones. I'll be sure to check out your swatches. Thanks for reading, Pamela! Xx

    1. I know, I know, literally the only place I could find it was on Amazon (and you know what they're like, haha!) It was worth the splurge though, for sure! At least your friend can get you it on the cheap in America - hope it works just as well for you! Xx

    1. Yeah, I find eBay can be a bit risky - there's a lot of fakes going about and you can never be too careful with makeup products! Thanks for reading Catherine! Xx

    1. I get my brow products from the ABH section on Cult Beauty so it was my first port-of-call to find these liquid lipsticks - bit disappointing to not see them there! I hope someone in the UK carries them soon, would be fab! Xx
