Well, well, well... Who would've thought that May would be so busy? As you know, because I dedicated a whole post to it here, I've been a bit absent from the blogging world this month. It's all explained in that post so I won't drone on, but basically I started a full-time job and it's been the hardest I've ever worked. Ever. But that's okay... I need money to be able buy lovely things and visit lovely places, right? Rest assured now that I'm in somewhat of a routine I will be back blogging on the regular. And I'm really grateful for all your supportive comments and tweets. This community is truly wonderful and I'm so glad to consider myself part of it.

We've dedicated a lot of this month to family time. My brother spent a few days at home and we hung out for the bank holiday which was nice. It always seems to be that one of us is always working on the other's day off. I also went for the most delicious lunch at ASK Italian with my Mum a few weeks ago, and I just had to take a photo of the pizza because, I mean, it's p i z z a. They had the coolest wine glasses and water jugs there too - I really wanted to buy a set but resisted.

The weather's been mostly gorgeous, and now that I'm on a 5.30-2.30 shift I'm usually home by 3 and can relax in the garden. Speaking of which, we've decided that we're going to embark on a summer project this year - building a summerhouse! Ahh, I'm so excited! I've already been on Pinterest and a bunch of other websites to get some inspiration. I LOVE this one from Next - isn't it just dreamy? I can already picture the floral bunting, pretty white furniture, magazines and homemade lemonade on a cute little coffee table! We're planning to hook up the electrics from the garage so I can use my Macbook in there too. Blogging in the sunshine, yes! Okay, I'll calm down now... Obviously once it's all done I'll have to show it off, but until then it's a case of levelling out the patio and sticking to websites for inspiration and ideas. It's going to be the best summerhouse ever though!

I love how it's really starting to feel like summer now (she says writing this on a grey, wet Sunday...) I live in a village that's quite the tourist attraction so this half-term has been crazy busy, and every weekend that follows until September will be exactly the same. It's nice to have that change of pace and really puts me to work, but at the same time I really just want to be able to pop to the shops without struggling to find somewhere to park! It's getting to be a bit of a nightmare. I'll be grateful when everyone goes home and I can finally have a week off!

What have you been getting up to this month?

  1. Wow I love your instagram photos. They are pretty decent.
I love how they are just purely simple and I really like that.
Also the quality is very high. Any tips on how to achieve that? :)

Congrats on your job. I am currently trying to find a job.
But for now I am working in digital marketing at my dad's company for a bit.
I kind of want to find something fun for a summer job though.

I've not been up to much this month. I had my final exams. (results in a few days)
But then I got let off for summer so I have had a good bit of free time.
Hope you spend your money well.

    1. Aw thank you so much, Ellen! I recommend a clean iPhone lens, good natural light and a decent editing app. I either use VSCO cam or the Instagram editor (not the filters though!)

Good luck for your results, hope you get what you want and enjoy your summer! Xx

  3. Your Instagram photos are so beautiful! Such a nice way to update everyone on what you're doing :) I know 5.30 is quite an early work start but it's nice that you have a lot of your day left when you get home from work! I hope the new job is going well. I'm going to have to find a little summer project to do in my spare time (once exams are finished) like your summerhouse, only I have no garden so it'll have to be something else haha. Good luck with it!

    1. Thanks Hannah! Ah, I don't have much advice there, to be honest. My job isn't anything to do with my degree but eventually I want to find something else! Hope you find what you're looking for though! Xx

  6. Welcome back to blogging! Glad to hear your new job is going well :) I know how stressful it is getting into a new routine. Sometimes a blog break is really good for your creativity, I think we all need a rest from it every now and again!
