La Roche-Posay Effaclar 3-Step Anti-Blemish System

Myself and my skin have had a very intense relationship (sounds strange but hear me out) which it isn't helped by my love of steaming hot showers and the odd makeup wipe - slaps wrist - so I basically need all the help I can get when it comes to skincare. Over the past year or so, I discovered the skincare marvel that is La Roche-Posay and their coveted Effaclar Duo serum and Rosacea range. It's safe to say I wouldn't be without their products in my skin routine nowadays. That's why I jumped at the chance when they sent me the new 3-Step Anti-Blemish System.

The Effaclar Anti-Blemish System* launched in the UK this September and, like any good blogger, I wanted to give it a fair trial before presenting you with my thoughts. Unfortunately I haven't been able to give you any before or after shots (due to a few reasons I won't bore you with) but trust me when I say that this kit is a must-have in your skincare routine.

The system, designed to combat the key signs of oily, blemish-prone skin, is made up of three simple products. Each one has been carefully selected to work in synergy to dramatically improve skin's appearance.

They are proven to tackle:
- Blemishes
- Clogged and enlarged pores
- Excess sebum
- Uneven and rough skin texture
- Red and brown marks

CLEANSE: the Effaclar Purifying Gel Cleanser removes bacteria that may lead to spots by targeting excess sebum and impurities, leaving skin feeling fresh and clean. I work a small amount into a lather with some warm water and massage onto skin using gentle circular motions. Remove with warm water and/or with a clean muslin cloth.

TONE: the Effaclar Clarifying Toner is the newest member to the La Roche-Posay UK clan, and is used to smooth, mattify and tighten pores. Salicylic Acid and Lactic Acid combine for a gentle exfoliating action; Silica and Zinc Oxide provide oil absorbing, shine reducing and sebum regulating properties; Allantoin, Glycerin and Thermal Spring Water refresh, soothe and hydrate problem skin. Simply apply to a cotton pad and gently sweep over the entire face. It might sound silly but I can feel it tightening my skin as I apply it - makes me feel squeaky clean!

CORRECT AND HYDRATE: the Effaclar Duo [+] is a complete cult classic that has been sweeping across the UK in the past year. I cannot rave about this little wonder enough (I did a post about the original version last September - click here) and have since been impressed with the improvements they've made for the [+] update. It is essentially a serum that corrects the appearance of blemishes, unclogs pores, and reduces the appearance of redness and brown marks. It also provides a great makeup base and 24-hour hydration, which is a big bonus because anyone can get dehydrated skin, no matter your skin type.

All three products in the kit are clinically proven with the necessary ingredients to treat oily, blemish-prone skin. No nasties are added which means they are also suitable for sensitive skin. They all include the refreshing La Roche-Posay Thermal Spring Water (if you're a regular reader, you know I love it!) so extra there's hydration and soothing in each step.

Used twice a day, morning and evening, and you will see a serious improvement in your skin's appearance - or your money back! Now that is a pretty huge claim to make but I have to agree. When it comes to clearer skin, La Roche-Posay will always be a winner!

The Effaclar Anti-Blemish System retails at £32.50, and is exclusively available from larger Boots stores and online.
