Illamasqua Cream Blusher in Rude

I'm pretty new to the whole cream blusher trend, simply because I'm totally obsessed with MAC (Springsheen and Style) and NARS (Orgasm and Satellite of Love) powders which are quite different from each other so they serve their purpose on separate occasions. However, now that we're moving into Springtime (albeit very slowly) I decided to search for a new shade with a creamy formula.

Illamasqua's Cream Blusher is a product that can be used to highlight cheekbones, shape your face, and give your cheeks a fresh pop of colour. Using it over foundation will give your look more of a dramatic impact, and applying it before foundation will give you a captivating glow.

I was debating between Rude and Dixie, which didn't look dissimilar to each other - Rude is described as a warm peach pink with a dewy finish, Dixie is differentiated by its coral pink hue. In the end I opted for Rude. At first glance, it appears a rather daunting orange in the pan, and even on application, but as soon as you buff it into your skin it gives you a lovely dewy peach glow. I apply it with either my fingers or my Real Techniques stippling brush, depending on how natural I want it to be.

The black and gold packaging was a refreshing change. It adds a level of sophistication and luxury with a lovely sturdy case where you can see the colour of the product clearly even when it's closed.

I was pleasantly surprised by this cream blusher. It was really soft and blendable, and had wonderful pigmentation on my skin. Not only that but I didn't find it sticky or hard to work with at all. I even think the price is justified, simply because you need so little to have a big effect on the skin. Overall, I think Rude is a fantastic colour for Spring!

What do you think of Illamasqua Cream Blushers? What's your favourite cream blusher of the moment?
